This is a Project sponsored by Churches Together in
Shifnal. It was officially opened on Friday October 3rd 2003.
It is maintained financially by the Churches and by donations
It is a small shop (drop in centre) where anyone is welcome, to have a
coffee, chat, share any problems and where there is a small room for
private prayer (if desired).. Christian cards and literature are available.
The shop is staffed by two volunteers from the local Churches each
session.
We now have about 70 volunteers and there is real enthusiasm for the
ongoing work of Oasis. There is an average of about 800 visitors a year.
We look forward to the future with confidence that
the work will continue to expand, which would mean finding larger premises
in the Town. We have now found new premises much nearer the centre of
Town and we hope it will bring in more visitors. The new premises were
opened by David Lea and dedicated on Friday 23rd November 2007.
Pictures cane be found by clicking on 'Oasis Pictures '.
Our desire is also to serve the youth of Shifnal, and we are in
discussion as to how that can be accomplished.
For more information about the Youth Club see Shifnal Town News on this
website.
